  1. Prepare 1/2 cup rawa roasted
  2. Prepare 2 chopped onion
  3. Get 1/2 chopped beet
  4. Take 1/2 chopped capsicum
  5. Take 1/2 chopped tomatoes
  6. Get 1/2 inch crushed ginger
  7. Get 2 chopped green chillies
  8. Get 4-5 curry leaves
  9. Get 1 tsp cumin and mustard seeds
  10. Take 1 pinch Asafoetida
  11. Prepare 4 spoon oil
  12. Make ready 1 spoon ghee
  13. Take as needed chopped coriander leaves
  14. Get 1 tsp salt
  15. Prepare 1 tsp sugar

Once it's spluttered add chopped onion sauté till light brown color then add ginger, green chilli and curry leaves and sauté gently. I make this for breakfast as well as for dinner sometimes. I was out of all the vegetables. When I opened my fridge I saw only beets left and thought will make chapati and beets curry.

Instructions to make Beet upma:
  1. First heat oil in pan add cumin and mustard seed and aesofetidea and let it crackle…add green chillies and curry leaves.
  2. Now add chopped onion let it saute…then add chopped capsicum, beet and tomato and cook till all veggies soften and add crushed ginger
  3. Now add suji and dry roast will all fried veggies add 1 tsp salt and add water accordingly…
  4. Cook till suji absorbs water and becomes thick..now add tdpn sugar and ghee and mix
  5. Garnish it with coriander leaves…serve hot

I love trying healthy grains (or seeds) in different ways. Especially those I can substitute for rice. Millet is a relatively unknown small, round, yellow (or white, gray or red) seed. Although the term millet refers to grains, it is not really a grain, but a seed. In a kadai add oil and throw in the mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal ,chilies and the curry leaves.
