  1. Take 400 gram Bhindi (Okra)/ladyfinger
  2. Prepare 3 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  3. Make ready 2 tsp Lemon juice
  4. Take Stuffing for Bhindi/Okra
  5. Get 2 tablespoon Coriander Powder
  6. Prepare 10-12 Garlic cloves
  7. Prepare 1 Onion
  8. Take 4 Green chilli
  9. Make ready 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  10. Take 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  11. Take 1 1/2 teaspoons Cumin Powder
  12. Take 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  13. Take to taste salt
  14. Get Pinch Hing (asafoetida)

Bharwa Bhindi (Stuffed Okra) is a popular Indian side dish where the okra is stuffed with spicy & tangy masala filling. This vegan & gluten free dish is a perfect side with Indian roti or paratha, or even great to enjoy as an appetizer. He loves okra so much that I have to make many different bhindi recipes. Steps to make Bharwa Bhindi:
  1. Rinse the Bhindi wipe them with dry cloth or kitchen towel. For Stuffing Masala add coriander powder, garlic cloves, onion, green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and Cumin Powder in grinder jar make a paste. Make a slit in each Bhindi length-wise, cut top and bottom.
  2. Take Stuff masala Paste in a bowl with Garam Masala, Hing and salt Mix well.Now stuff all Bhindi one by one. Heat a pan with vegetables oil add all stuff Bhindi in a single layer.
  3. Cook the Bhindi on the Low flame and cover it. After4-5 minutes keep turning Bhindi and again covered for 8-10 minutes for cook then turn off the flame. Add lemon juice and serve with Paratha or Roti

Wipe them dry with kitchen towel or paper towel very well. Bharwa bhindi (in hindi bharwa = stuffed, bhindi = okra) is a versatile recipe and the ingredients can be tweaked based on what you have in your pantry.
