The ingredients needed to make Homemade Biryani:
- Prepare 1 cup Basmati Rice
- Prepare 300 GMS Chicken
- Take 2 cups Curd
- Take 6/7 Green Chilli
- Take 3 Small Onion
- Make ready 3 Small tomatoes
- Get 2 Small English Cucumbers
- Make ready as required Mint leaves pudina
- Make ready as per required Coriander leaves
- Get 1 tbsp Ginger and garlic paste homemade
- Make ready 1 pc Lemon
- Take as per need Whole spices - bay leaves, cloves, cardamon, cinammon etc
- Make ready 2 tbspn Oil
- Get 2 tbspn Ghee
- Prepare As needed Chicken Masala and Garam Masala

This biryani recipe is prepared using basmati rice, chicken thighs, hung curd, onion, tomato, milk, saffron and a melange of whole and ground spices. For preparing this amazing and mouth-watering Biryani recipe, chicken is marinated in yoghurt and a mix of spices and then cooked using slow-cooking method. Make the rice: Place the rice in a sieve and rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear.

- Marinate chicken with Salt lemon and ginger garlic paste and set aside for 15 mins

- Add 2 tbsp of mustard oil and splatter all whole spices
- Add onions and green chill and fry till brown
- Now take a cup of rice and soak it for some 10 mins
- Now once the onions are brown add chicken and fry them for some time
- Now after 3/4 mins of cooking add spices - chicken masala some garam masala, salt to taste and Turmeric
- Cook for another 5/10 mins and all a bit of chill and tomato
- Now in the cutting board chop a chunk of mint leaves, coriander leaves abd chilli
- Add little bit of this mixture and add and cook
- Once the chicken seems to cook well, add half cup curd to the chicken
- Now make the gravy consistent and add little water like quarter cup
- Now layer the rice at top of the gravy and do not mix the rice. Make sure very less water is added as it had already soaked water ! For a cup of rice I added just a quarter cup of rice.
- Add the coriander and mint leaves from up and 2 tbspn of ghee from top
- Now put the pressure lid and put in lowest flame possible for 30 mins
- Now after 30 mins let it rest for around 10 mins before you open
- Now make Raitha with small pieces cut cucumber, onion and chillis and mixed with curd
- Now serve the Biryani hot with raita
