- Get leaves few Coriander
- Take leaves few Pudina
- Get 1 tbsp Chilli powder

- Make ready For Biryani rice-
- Prepare 1 cup biryani
- Prepare 1 tsp fennel seeds
- Get 1/2 tsp jeera
- Make ready 2 " pc cinnamon
- Take 3 Cardamoms
- Take 3 cloves
- Make ready 1 small onion sliced
- Prepare 3 greenchillies
- Get 2 tbsp Lime juice
- Make ready as per taste Salt
- Prepare as per taste Ghee
- Make ready as needed Coriander leaves
- Get leaves as required Mint
- Get for Dum-
- Take as required Garam masala powder
- Get as required Ghee
- Prepare leaves as required Coriander

Fish Biryani is a flavorful mix of rice, spices and fish fillets. Made in traditional Hyderabadi style, this recipe will become your favorite immediately. For some reason, whenever we decide to eat non-vegetarian food, it's either chicken or mutton that comes to my mind. Biryani isn't really a curry - its a rice dish, a rice dish thats sealed in the pan and then 'baked' on the stove.
Steps to make Fish biryani:
- Marinate the fish and keep aside for an hour. Later add 5 tbsp of oil and fry on both sides till done
- Make a paste of green chillies, 3 stems of coriander with leaves and 10 pudina leaves.
- In the remaining oil(reserve a tbsp of oil) in which you fried fish saute onions. Once they are translucent add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears. Now add in chopped tomatoes and saute till mushy. Later add the ground paste made of green chilli+pudina+mint and saute till you get a nice aroma.
- Now tip in the powder masalas and salt and saute for 2 mins now pour 1/4 cup of water and let it cook for 2 mins or till there is no gravy left. Now place the fried fish on top and close the lid and let it sit for some time.
- Heat 2tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker tip in all the whole spices and saute till aromatic.Now add sliced onions and saute till translucent add washed and drained rice + 1.5 cup water. Add salt,lime juice,green chillies whole(don't cut or slit), few coriander leaves and mint leaves. Now close the pressure lid. Pressure cook till 2 whistles and wait till the pressure releases.
- Take a deep heavy-bottomed vessel for dum and spread ghee all over the vessel.
- Remove the fish slices from the masala be careful so that it doesn't break.
- Place a wide pan on stove and heat for 3 mins
- Now spread half of the rice in the vessel. Spread masala as the next layer and top last layer with rest of the rice.sprinle some garam masala powder pour reserved fish fried oil here and there. and pour a tbsp of ghee. Now place the fish pieces. Finally, throw in some coriander and mint leaves. Close with a tight lid.
- Place it on the preheated pan and put it to low flame and dum it for 10-15 mins and swicth off the flame.Keep it undisturbed for 30 mins and then serve
- While serving open the dum remove the fish pieces out and place it separately.Scoop out the rice along with the masala from one side onto a serving plate and den place the fish on it so that it doesn't break.
Theres no 'curry gravy' going on here. Rice: I have used basmati rice in this recipe, Always use good quality rice for the better taste, you could also swap to seeraga samba rice. Best fish for Fish Biryani: Bone-in fish steaks hold up really well in Biryani dishes. I like to use salmon, halibut or king fish steaks. If you do not like bone-in fish, use thick fish fillet of salmon, halibut or king fish.
