  1. Take 1 1/2 lb Steak of Choice Sliced Thin (I used Flank Steak)
  2. Prepare Marinade
  3. Make ready 4 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
  4. Take 1-2 Tbsp Light Brown Sugar
  5. Get 2 Tbsp Rice Wine or Mirin
  6. Prepare 2 Tbsp Garlic Minced
  7. Prepare 1-2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  8. Get 1 Tbsp Raw Honey
  9. Get 2 Tbsp Pear Puree
  10. Prepare 2 Tbsp Green Onion Chopped
  11. Take 1 Tbsp Ginger Grated (Optional)
  12. Make ready 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Adds Heat, Optional)
  13. Prepare 1-2 Tbsp Veg Oil of Choice (For Frying)
  14. Take 2 tsp Sesame Seeds Toasted
  15. Prepare 1 tsp Black Pepper

Bulgogi (불고기), also known as Korean BBQ beef, is marinated thinly sliced beef. While it can be made with other meats such as chicken (dak bulgogi) and pork (dweji bulgogi), the term "bulgogi" generally refers to beef bulgogi. While this Korean marinated beef is most commonly char grilled at restaurants and homes, especially outside Korea, there are many regional variations of how this. Since I've grown up, I'm always on the search for Korean restaurants serving up some delicious bulgogi.

Instructions to make Korean Bulgogi:
  1. Using a knife or meat scissors, slice or cut meat across the grain into 1/4 inch strips.
  2. In a Medium sized bowl, combine all Marinade ingredients. Pour Marinade and Sliced Steak into a Large Gallon sized Ziploc Bag. Get air out and seal. Put into refrigerator for at least 2 hours, up to overnight.
  3. Heat 1 Tbsp of Veg Oil in a Cast Iron Grill Pan to Medium-High Heat. Add Steak in one layer, with some space in between. Don't overfill pan. Cook 2-4 Minutes on each side, until charred. Repeat with rest of Steak.
  4. Serve over Rice, Noodles, Veggies, or in Wraps.

Let me say, my search will go no further than my kitchen from now on. I was worried about making it from scratch as I have no real experience cooking any sort of Korean food, but I'm glad I tried it.
