  1. Prepare 1 cup rice (your choice),

  6. Prepare 3-4 tbsp desi ghee
  7. Make ready Pinch hing
  8. Make ready Pinch zeera
  9. Prepare 4-5 laung
  10. Make ready 1/2 tsp sabit kali mirch
  11. Take Small piece ginger cut into juliens
  12. Prepare 2-3 green chillies, chopped finely
  13. Prepare 1 medium sized onion thinly sliced
  14. Get 1 tsp red chilli flakes
Steps to make Moong Dal Khichdi:
  1. Mix dal & rice in a mixing bowl, wash it, soak in water for 1 hour.
  2. Strain it, keep aside.
  3. Take a pressure cooker, add khichdi, salt & ghee.
  4. Add water accordingly so as to keep it a lil thick (not mashy).
  5. Place the lid, give 4-5 whistles at high flame.
  6. Switch off the flame, open the lid after 5 minutes of cooling. Keep aside.
  7. Now take a pan, add ghee, heat it.
  8. Moderate the flame, add hing & zeera, let it splutter.
  9. Add laung & kali mirch, saute it for a while.
  10. Add ginger & green chilli, saute it for a while.
  11. Now add onion, stir fry it at high flame till brown.
  12. Switch off the flame now, add red chilli flakes, give a stir.
  13. Mix this tadke with cooked Khichdi. Cover it again.
  14. Take out in a serving bowl, have it with chutney, dahi,papad, salad & desi ghee.
