- Make ready 1 cup sprouted moong (green gram)
- Prepare 3/4 cup raw rice
- Take 1 tbsp pure ghee
- Get 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Take 2 green chillies chopped
- Take 1 inch ginger chopped
- Take To taste salt
- Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Prepare 2 tbsp chopped coconut (optional)

- Wash and soak rice in water for 20-30 minutes. Then drain and keep aside.
- Heat ghee in a nonstick pan. Add cumin seeds. When they sizzle up add green chilli, ginger and saute for a few seconds.
- Add rice, salt and turmeric powder. Mix and cook for a minute or two.
- Next add sprouted moong, coconut and mix everything well.
- Add water (preferably 2 cups or as required) and cook for 15-20 minutes or until done on medium heat, stirring intermittently.
- Once done turn off the flame, add little more ghee and fluff the rice with a fork. Keep it covered.
- Serve hot with curd, chachh or some salads on the side.
