  6. Now add all the vegetables namely-Green chillies, capsicum, onion and tomatoes, as mentioned above except Coriander and lemon juice.
  7. Add Salt to it and saute for a minute.
  8. Now add soaked Dal and Rice to the sauted vegetables.
  9. Saute this again for another minute. This step is very important as this will ensure added flavour to the Khichdi.
  10. Now add 2 cups water if you want a normal consistency Khichdi and 2.5 cups of water if you want a runny Khichdi.
  11. Please note that I have used standard size of cups and spoons for this recipe.
  12. Now cover the pressure cooker with lid and let 3 whistles come at high flame then switch the flame to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  13. Open the lid of the cooker only after the steam is gone completely.
  14. Mix with a ladle and add coriander and lemon juice in it.
  15. Now mix everything very nicely and keep on mashing it because Khichdi tastes better when they are mashed.
  16. Serve it hot with pickle and papad!
