  1. Prepare 3 potatoes boiled and mashed
  2. Take 1/2 Teaspoon ginger paste
  3. Prepare 1/2 Teaspoon green chilli paste or finely chopped
  4. Get 1/4 Teaspoon mango powder dry (aamchur powder)
  5. Take 1/2 Teaspoon chaat masala
  6. Prepare 2 Teaspoons poha thin (rice flakes)
  7. Make ready 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour (maida)
  8. Take 1/2 Tablespoon sooji (rawa, semolina flour)
  9. Get 2 Tablespoons oil
  10. Take To Taste Salt

So aloo tikki literally translates to potato patties. These Indian style potato patties are delicious, crisp and flavorful as a good amount of spices and herbs are used. They are eaten as a snack. Aloo pattice is a good option when you want to cook something different.

Instructions to make Aloo pattice:
  1. Take a bowl and put potatoes, ginger – green chilli paste, dry mango powder, chaat masala, thin poha, salt
  2. Mix it well with fingers only and do not use palm to mix it (this way we can avoid adding moisture to the mix)
  3. Dust palms with all purpose flour, divide mixture in to 8 equal pieces balls and flat it with palm call each as Pattie
  4. Take a plate and mix sooji and all purpose floor
  5. Heat tawa on medium heat
  6. Dust all sides of pattie in all purpose flour and sooji mix
  7. Sprinkle few drops of oil on tawa, put the pattie on tawa and roast it for about 1-1.5 minutes
  8. Sprinkle few drops of oil and flip pattie over, roast it for about 1-1.5 minutes
  9. Repeat step 6 to 8 for each pattie. In case you have big tawa, you can roast 4 Pattie at the same time.
  10. Serve it with hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney
  11. Note: After boiling keep it in fridge for approx 15-20 minutes, to reduce the moisture content from the boiled potatoes

It is an amazing dish which is liked by people of all age groups. Farali Aaloo Pattice are usually prepared during fasting days and various religious occasions. It is an easy recipe which can be prepared with less time and at the same time it tastes delicious. Farali Aaloo Pattice can be served with dhaniya pudina chutney and works a best combination with Sabudana Khichdi, Doodhi Halwa and some chilled cucumber raita. Make small patties/cutlets and shallow fry till golden brown on both sides.
