The ingredients needed to make Aloo Palak:
  1. Get 500 gm spanich
  2. Make ready 1 onion roughly chopped
  3. Make ready 1 Tomato roughly chopped

  8. Make ready 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste

  12. Prepare 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  13. Get 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder

Aloo Palak is a dish found in different variations across India and is quite popular during the winter season. It can be cooked in two variations of dry and gravy. This recipe is the dry version and is also known as Aloo Palak Subzi. The word Subzi means vegetable curry or stir fry in Hindi.

Steps to make Aloo Palak:
  1. In a mixing ball take cut potatoes add 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste add 1/2 tsp of salt.
  2. Ade 1/2 tsp of Kashmiri Red chilli powder mix well and then add 1-2 tsp curd and mix well and keep a side for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat water in two vessels in one when water comes to boil add roughly chopped onion,tomatoes, slice ginger and cloves and garlic
  4. Add green chillies
  5. Add 1/2 tsp of salt and cook for 10 minutes and let it boil. In another vessel boil Spinach when it comes to boil cook for 2 minutes and wash it with cold water and let it cool.
  6. In a mixer grinder take bolied spinach, add boiled onion ginger garlic and make smooth paste
  7. Deep fry the potato. Heat some more oil in kadai for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add Spinach paste,add a bit water in mixture jar and add in the karai now add fired potatoes and mix well. If you think the thickness is very much you can add water
  9. When it comes to boil add 1 tsp of Garammasala and 1/2 tsp of rosted cumin powder and now cover it and cook in low for 10-15 minutes
  10. After 10-15 minute check the potatoes are cooked now add cream and mix well. And Alu Palak is ready. Garnish with cream.

In this recipe, we are going to make dry sabji (without gravy) of spinach and potato. First, the spinach is cooked with onion and spices and then boiled and cubed potatoes are cooked with this spinach mixture to make this sabji.
