- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

Aloo methi recipe - easy recipe of fenugreek leaves and potatoes sauteed in garlic & spices. Fenugreek leaves are called methi in hindi and potatoes known as aloo. They both pair up wonderfully well to make a stir fry, variety rice or Paratha. Potato is a versatile ingredient that is used to make a lot of dishes.
Steps to make Methi Aloo:
- Turn on the gas flame. Place a pan pour there oil. When the oil starts to smoke add boiled and chopped Aloo. Fry it for 5 mind in medium flame. Then take it out to a plate.
- Now in the same pan add 1 tablespoon of oil and when it starts to smoke add there cumin seeds, dry red chilli and chopped garlic 🧄 with soaked Methi and saute it. Saute it for few seconds, then add fried Aloo.
- Saute it in medium flame for 2 to 3 mins. Then fry it well for 5 mins till it changes it's colour to golden brown add there turmeric powder and fry along with it. Then add red chilli powder, Kasuri methi to it and add salt to it and fry it continuously in medium flame. Then it's ready to serve with roti.
In Indian cuisine we use them to make snacks like. Aloo Methi is a simple north-Indian stir fry made with potatoes and fenugreek leaves. In fact, the name of this dish comes from the Hindi words of Aloo meaning potatoes and Methi meaning Fenugreek leaves. It is a very popular winter-favorite dish in North India. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the cumin seeds and asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
