  12. Get 1-2 cloves
  13. Take 1/2 tsp sha jeera
  14. Make ready 1 tsp sugar
  15. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric
  16. Make ready 1/2 tsp red chilli poweder
  17. Prepare 1/2 tsp jeera powder
  18. Prepare 1 tsp coriander powder
  19. Get 1 1/2 tsp corn flour
  20. Make ready 2 tsp chopped cashew nuts
  21. Prepare 1/4 cup whole cashew nuts
  22. Get as per taste Salt
  23. Take as required Oil (for deep frying)

  25. Get 1-2 tsp kasuri methi
  26. Take 1 tsp chopped green coriander leaves
  27. Take 1-2 fresh cream

Instructions to make Malai kofta:
  1. Kofta preparation: In a mixing bowl, add mashed paneer, mashed potato, 1 tsp chopped ginger, 1 tsp green chilli, 1 tsp chopped green coriander leaves, a pinch of salt, cornflour and mix well to make a dough. Now take a small portion and using hands give a round or oval shape to the kofta, prepare the koftas from the dough similar way. Now deep fry them until golden brown and keep aside.
  2. Gravy preparation: Heat the kadhai, add butter. When butter melts, add bay leaf, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon stick and shahi jeera and saute for few seconds, now add chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and saute until onion is cooked (ensure onions are not burnt or overcooked), now add all the dry masala powder and mix well. Now add chopped tomato, whole cashew nuts, sugar and salt and mix well. Saute for few minutes until tomato is half cooked. Now add 2 cups of water.
  3. Keep for boiling until tomatoes are mashed and cashew nuts are tender, switch off the flame, once the mixture is slightly cooled down, blend it into a smooth paste(before blending remove the bay leaf). Now keep a kadhai on gas, switch on the flame, strain the blended paste using a strainer and add into the kadhai, add little water if it's too thick. Now stir for few seconds, add 1 tsp Kasuri methi, 1-2 tsp fresh cream and mix well. Switch off the flame.
  4. Time to serve: In a serving bowl, place the koftas and now add the gravy on top of it. Garnish with Kasuri methi or fresh coriander leaves. Serve with roti/nun/steam rice
